SUMMARY: Andrea has bought a box of holes. Her mother does not believe there is anything in the box. But Andrea takes the box to her room and one by one pulls a hole out of the box. With each hole, a fairy tale person (or animal) comes to claim their missing holes. Finally she is down to her last hole. It is dark and deep. She climbs into the hole and finds herself in the Castle of Wishes. Here, she asks for her mother's smile to come back. There are plenty of details to catch the eye and the pictures are very colorful.THE GOOD: This story is high on imagination factor. It gets one to thinking, if a person owned one important hole, what would it look like?THE NOT AS GOOD: The story line was a bit too long and I had trouble keeping interested. I felt like the author tried to stuff too many things in one book. I also had trouble making the connection between this box of holes and how it helped to make her mother happy in the end.AGE RECOMMENDATION: Age 4-8
