A fabulous book, one that all school age children should read. I, too, was intrigued by the cover during my elementary days in the early '70s. I read the book and have never forgotten this story. The bravery and dignity of "Charlie's" family, the brutality of humans to one another, and the boy, "Charlie," caring for the man in the box. Also, the heartrending ending has stayed with me. I wish I knew what happened to the boy. I have looked for this book many times over the years, so am thrilled to find it here!
