When I got this, I thought it was a general purpose box. You have stuff you need to make sure stays dry, you need a sturdy box to move things in, you need something that will float and make sure the contents are protected if it gets dropped in water this is your box. Guns, bullets, paperwork, 35 mm film, who knows.Upon receiving it, I figured out it can be all of those things but I suspect the designers had something a little more targeted than generic items. If you ever saw the movie Flight, this is pretty much what Harling Mays has when he comes to Denzel's hotel room, I think Lance might have had one in Pulp Fiction. If that's your use case, this is a tremendously well thought out case. I went ahead and tested it, thoroughly for scenarios I could. I put some Sugar and Baking powder in a few baggies and sealed the box, then threw it in my pool. For good measure I gave it a pretty good toss. It floated on top of the water and after jumping in, I opened it up and everything was as dry as could be. I then decided to try the 'film cannisters'. They seal quite well and if you twist the lid tightly, they'll stay dry inside altough the seal isn't quite as strong as the box's, but it's still solid. There's a little plate that you can use for , well, whatever people use plates for, like separating pieces or moving things around before they are weighed. There's a compartment for everything and the mesh and padding inside are really high quality, they didn't' skimp on anything. I'm not willing to try it, but if you packed porcelain items or something delicate and fragile in this box correctly and threw it out of your car while quickly accelerating (no possible idea why anyone would do that, but I'm just using it as an example) I'm positive the contents would remain in tact safe and secure. Now on the "downsides", the handle is made of a slightly porous surface, this makes it really easy to keep a grip on it without it slipping even if your hand is wet. The material is such though that if you did have to throw it out of your car while quickly accelerating a way, I don't think you'd leave complete fingerprints on the handle so if you're the type of person that relies on people running fingerprints to return your misplaced property, you may want to insert an airtag in there or something, I don't think you'll be able to rely on fingerprinting technique. The other downside is a little more nuanced - it looks like a movie prop, you're not going to walk into a hotel lobby and not attract attention, people there will definitely think you're a medical professional at the hotel to administer lifesaving care to someone and they may start asking you for medical advice.Few products have been as thoughtfully designed and put together though. I mean, down to the small details, the designer thought about everything and spared no expense making sure to cover the bases. It's an excellent case, and even though it seems like it has on primary use case in mind, it's flexible enough that's a lot of other things you can use it for. Very well done in every way.
