This collection of 30 songs on 3 CD's was first published in 2000 and later again by K-Tel in 2003.By now, Nelson has had over 200 albums and it is little wonder that one can still find songs that are excellent ,even though some are lesser known ;to me anyway.23 of the songs were written by Willie,4 were joint efforts of Cochran /Nelson,1 by Day /Nelson,and 1 by Breeland/Buskirk/Nelson.There is no point in my listing the songs as they are all shown here. While there is one of Willie's best known songs, "Night Life" (Live),the rest are a great selection of lesser known songs and should be a great treat ,especially if they are new to you.and just imagine these are at least over 12 years old. Even though I have many of Willie's,albums:there is something I found different about these songs. They seem to speak from the heart and soul of what is important to Willie and they actually convey a feeling that he is singing them just to you or at least just a few people up close rather than at a big concert.Don't get me wrong,Willie is also great at a huge venue, but here he is just a little different.Since most of the songs are new to me;I'll be playing them over and over until they become as familiar to me as many of his classics have already become.I won't even try to highlight some of my favorites, because I found them all excellent surprises.I have no idea how many songs Willie has recorded, somewhere over 800,I believe, and that doesn't begin to talk about how many he's written but not recorded.Little wonder,if you are a Nelson fan;there's still new songs of his to find.
