The late lamented trombonist Bob Brookmeyer and trumpeter Tom Harrell were pianist Benny Aranov's associates on this elusive 1978 session for Gerry MacDonald's Choice label. As with all of Gerry's sessions taste abounds as these five outstanding players work through a satisfying mix of standards and originals. The surprisingly low profile Benny Aranov reveals himself to be a composer, arranger and pianist of real quality.
