I just built a custom full closet and laid a black floor and really wanted a red hamper to contrast with the colors and having no luck with hampers, this little gem popped up under toy chest. The price was very reasonable, so we got it. I saw the reviews where people complained about it not being real wood, and not sure what it's made of. I'm pretty sure it's made of hdMDF, as it's pretty heavy for it's size. The product is very well built for what it is, and sturdy. I gave it 4 stars for the following reasons: My wife put it together, and said the instructions were a bit unclear with the cam locks so she had to get me to show her how to use them. The lid came with a scratch across the entire face, which she only noticed in the last step of assembly, but we decided to keep it anyway. Overall, it's a great little box that will make a great hamper, and for the price, I couldn't have built it that cheap. BUY IT, you won't be disappointed.I'm using this chest as a storage place for my clothes, it does it's job.Best buy in a while if i dont say so myself! My daughter loves her toy box. I love her toy box. And everything can clean up nicely!Just put it together last night, so haven’t actually used it yet, but satisfied with the way it looks and how much it holds. I could’ve (maybe should’ve) gotten one a little bigger (or maybe I just have too many toys for my little nephew! I would’ve given 5 stars if the instructions were a little more clear. We did a lot of “guessing” when putting it together (like “is this the correct side?” when putting the screws in, etc.) but we got it done with no issues. I would recommend this product … a decent item for the price.My grand baby likes it so much she sits in it to play with her toysIt’s an awesome toy chest! The slow-to-close feature works so well, I never have to worry my daughter will slam her fingers.My husband complained a little while putting it together but once it was done he said it wasn’t that bad! Looks like its covered in a laminate which may or may not be wood, could be vinyl, cant tell unless i saw sections out of it. Under this laminate is a core of what looks like some reconstituted something or other, mdf, who knows, doesn't look like wood to me. If we keep buying this stuff they will keep selling it. Advise taking a screen shot of the description prior to purchase.... before it's changed. This is not solid wood, unless particle boards are now called wood. Hope this help everyone. Very safe lid which the small one can't slam shut on herself. Excellent build quality and quite easy to put together, lid was a little finicky to attach but that's probably just me. Overall very happy with product, would certainly recommend for small toys. and small spaces.Easy to build, easy instructions, nice finish, used separate transfers to make it more personal. Little one loves it and I feel safe knowing the lid is child safe and he can open and close himself!Since purchasing this last June for my sons birthday, the hinge has broken like the other review pictures. There was no way of fixing this so the lid has come off leaving it look ugly, not had even a year and has not been misused. Disappointed that an expensive gift has not lasted a year :(I have had the box since July, use it to store some of my sons toys. This week the hinge snapped and there is no way to fix so we had to take off the lid and leave it open.Is there a guarantee with this box? I need the lid of the box with hinges and the back plate which the at the back of the box (see pics attached)Bought for granddaughter purchased 2 previously from different store and so much storage in the box . Great box would recommend to parents and looks good to .
