I have use this product (2 of them) about 3 times since purchase about 2 months ago. Used them pack hot meals for each of my two kids.Pro:- Function. Keeps food relatively warm in the 4-5 hours between packing and lunch time. Open/close tabs are large enough for anyone to handle.- Construction. Hi quality plastic- Right Size. Big enough for growing elementary-age boys- Nice aesthetics. Simple and more utilitarian, no fancy patterns that can be outdated when their interests changeCon:- Construction. Top fell apart. I was in a rush to get lunch together and kids out for school but couldn't for the life of me put the top on. I turned the top over to see if there was a problem and the plastic cover. Then the plastic cover feel off exposing the insulation underneath (see pic below). I couldn't get it back on. So this product is done! Not usable!- Function. The vacuum that is created when the hot food cools in the morning made it tough for my 5-yo to open without adult help.- Cleaning instructions. Small thing, but I didn't think that hand washing (not dishwasher safe) would be such a pain. Turns out it is. I don't like that I don't have the option for dishwasher.I was really excited when I came across these containers and after reading reviews. So why didnt I give it 5 stars? Well the 3 times I have sent the container with hot food, my son has not been able to open the lunch box, so he goes with eating at lunch time. Then the last time, his teacher even tried prying it open and by the time she did, it was already to late for him to eat his food. So even though I should probably give it 1 or 2 stars, it works fine if what I place inside is room temperature. The problem happens when hot food is placed inside. So Im back to square one with sending hot food to school but have 2 cute lunch boxes added to my growing collection of containers that didnt work.Affordable, sort of. Ecstatic at first to see the adequate size of the tray and perfect size for my 6 yr old. One problem occurs, after sealing the tray with the lid and locking it in all 4 sides as instructed to do so and 2.5 hrs elapse, my kid can't open the lid. It seems to click so tight that he has to ask around for adults to open it. Not every adult can open them either. I wonder if it has to do with the heat and humidity inside that shuts it . Looks like I will the only one that can use them for lunch since I still possess He-man strengthThey come as a set and I thought practical. I liked the design for a child's lunch box and thought it would be easy to open with the snaps. The one I was using for school hot lunches was difficult to open and close. My child had to have adults open her lunch every day. I'm not sure what happened at school, but that container came back home cracked on two sides. The other was accidentally placed in the dishwasher and came out misshapen. That was thrown away after one use. We had them not even a month before I had to throw them away. The vacuum seal is too difficult for an adult and child to open so we won't be replacing with the same device. You have to preheat containers to keep food warm for at least 3-4hrs, but my kids had hard time opening due to preheating. School told me to not use & findfind something easier to open. Keeps food cold and if no preheat nuggets will stay a little warm. Great for keeping food cold, but not keeping food warm or hot.The most attractive thing of this little thermos are the perfect shape they have to fit in a lunchbox and the easy way to open it. But when you put hot food on it, there is no way to open it . My child came back home 2 days in a row unable to eat because couldn't open it. At home we needed to use a knife and really strong force to be able to open them. At the end I'm not using them anymore. May be good if you only want to use them for cold food, I've not tried that.I bought these for my 11 and 10 yr old kids. The design idea was great but the construction was awful! Having a rating of 4hrs for hot/warm foods is an exxageration. Followed all the directions, kept the food warm, at best, 1 hr!!! More than a few times, it was hard to open. At one point it took 3 adults to help my 10 yr old open her lunch! PLEASE Do NOT buy if your intent is to have "warm/hot food". Your better off buying the classic old thermos. We have used these items for more than a month.Eh - we really don't use these much. I suppose these would be good for a little kid without much of an appetite who needed something easy to handle.
