The Latrells are a San Francisco-based, vocal-laced psychedelic soul band flavored with pop, hip-hop, R&B and rock. Influences include Motown greats - The Temptations and The Jackson 5, as well as The Neptunes, A Tribe Called Quest, Sly & The Family Stone, Outkast, The Kinks, plus anything on the Stax/Volt record label. The line-up includes former members of noted local bands !TANG, The Marginal Prophets, La Orquesta Internacional, Bizarre Bazare and Zircus. With tight, contemporary harmonies in the foreground, they focus on great dance-inducing songs that pay homage to groups like Booker T. & The M.G.'s, The Meters, The Funk Brothers and The Roots. Shows can be 40 minutes of edgy, bumpin', neo-soul, or three-hour, freestyle, old-school groove sessions. Either way, The Latrells are an exciting band to see and hear.
