I was lucky to have a gift card and paid half price. It's well worth the full price! I have arthritis, and my two cats insist on using one litter box. I got it because it has the litter tray, but I still clean it from the top, it's easier for me. Also, if you used more than a few inches of clumping litter to top it off, i wouldn't suggest opening the tray. No odor ( unless it's let go way too long) minimal litter tracking, etc. Easy to set up, and can be collapsed again. I try to scoop it out within 24 hours. I did have to teach the boy to exit through the top, once they enter through to kitty door, there's no exiting that way. Of course, the door is optional. ***The manufacturer should note in the instructions: in order to insert the door, you must place it UPSIDE DOWN from the inside to pop the self-pins in place on either side. Because of the way the pins are molded, you would be trying forever to insert the door from the front!*** It is a good value, I've had different types of litter boxes, this is the best I've had.***after using it for several months: do NOT use clumping litter in this. Although easy to maintain, it should be changed once a day, and add a scoop or two of non clumping litter if you plan to change in the am but it's getting close. Putting more than 7-8 cups of litter in the tray will cause dirty litter to get stuck in the seam between the tray area and the top portion; a mess and hard to clean. I still think it's great, especially if you can't lift much.***
